To stay in Langkawi

Despite our busy schedule, we need to have some respite. Langkawi is and will remain one of the places to be listed in our traveling almanac. Its natural beauty will remain one of its attraction in addition to its myths and folklore. Lots of information can be found on that by just merely surfing the web.

Where to stay? Well, there are lots of place to pick and choose, from 1 star to 5 star lodgings. If one is adventurous enough, 1000 stars hotel will always be available for free. Of course, one needs to be wary of the local rules, customs and authority.

Stayed in CD motel resort. CD stands for the owner's name - Che Di. I think it is a 1 star motel though. With a tight budget, anything goes. Remember, the aim - rest and relax. After all, you are not going to stay in the room for more than 2/3 of the day! There are things to see, do, dine and shop. The rate was RM80.00 per night. Located at Pantai Cenang, it looks like a block of hostel in between many other such hostels look-a-like motels. There are Tanjung Malie motel, Sugary Sand Motel (huh! diabetics beware!) and AB motel.

Inside the room - just nice with aircond and a decent washroom. A surau is provided nearby. The beach, Pantai Cenang is just a stone throw away, if you can throw a 200 gram stone 20 - 30 metres far. The beach is actually quite clean, and it is shared with by the other lodging providers. So if you like beaches, better to get these cheap decent ones that doesn't make a crater out of your bank account, but, of course do not expect bell boys or breakfast.

Another plus point, the shops are within walking distance and looking clean food stalls are no big deal. Even restaurants or posh type restaurants are available to get a share of your deep pocket. heh heh. Its kind of "happening" there. So worry not.

If you are at lost of where to stay, here are some of the contact numbers of lodgings in Langkawi. Of course the list is exhaustive. The net is a galore of bargains.
